Religious organizations in Hanoi join hands for helping people badly affected by Yagi storm

Responding a call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Committee in Hanoi to help people badly affected by Yagi storm, religious organizations have sent cashes and necessities to provinces and cities affected by the storm at a program held on September 11 in Hanoi.

Joining the event included representatives of the Municipal Party’s Committee in Hanoi, the municipal VFF, local authorities, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Protestatism, Caodaism, etc.

During the event, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council Thích Bảo Nghiêm on behalf of the VBS’s Charity and Social Board in Hanoi handed over 100 million VND, the VBS’s Executive Board in Hoang Mai district supported 20 million VND, Venerable Nun Thích Đàm Hiếu, Vice Chairwoman of the VBS’s Executive Board in Hai Ba Trung district presented 30 million VND, monasteries and lay Buddhits in Hanoi donated nearly 170 million VND, the Caodai parish in Hanoi supported five million VND, the Vietnam Full Gospel Church and the Vietnam World of Life Church each sent 50 million VND, and the municipal Committee for solidarity of Catholics supported 30 million VND.

As reported up to September 11 afternoon, individuals organizations and religious groups sent over 26 billion VND in total to the municipal VFF for supporting people badly affected by Yagi storm.
