The local authorities in Vi Xuyen district’s Dao Duc commune of Ha Giang province held on February 15 an incense offering ceremony in Sung Khanh pagoda and Long Tong Festival 2022.
According to Ven. Thích Thanh Phúc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Ha Giang province cum Abbot of Sung Khanh pagoda, the pagoda was built in 1356 during Trần dynasty.
The Buddhist temple was classified as the national historical relic site in 1993 and a stele inside the pagoda was recognized as a national treasure in 2013.

The stele in Sung Khanh pagoda was built in 1367 on a stone turtle, bearing precious values which could be considered as an original document for researching other documents about Trần dynasty, and scripts carved in the stele also were an additional document for more understanding about Nom letters in the dynasty.

In addition, in the first full moon, people in Dao Duc commune annually celebrates Long Tong festival dedicating to the god of agriculture in wish for being blessed verdant crops and prosperity throughout the year.
