Facing negative effects of Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, the representative committee of Hoa Hao Buddhists in Dong Thap province and the commune-level executive boards have mobilized Hoa Hao Buddhists and sponsors for sending support supplies and relief to people affected by Covid-19 and floods in the Central region.

Hoa Hao Buddhists in Dong Thap have also made practical contributions worth over 108 billion VND for building charity houses for the disadvantaged and rural bridges in localities; providing free meals, porridge, fresh water and supports to poor people and pupils; supplying fresh water to people in salt-affected areas in Ben Tre; growing and collecting herbal medicines, and supporting the Covid-19 fund.
