Religious organizations in Khanh Hoa sign coordination program on environmental protection

Religious organizations in Khanh Hoa province attended on June 30 a meeting to review the coordination program promoting religions’ role in the environmental protection and climate change adaptation for the 2017-2022 and sign another program for the 2023-2026 period.
As reported at the event, local religious organizations have participated in 29 training conferences on environment protections, planted nearly 37,000 trees, took care of 202.6 hectares of land with planted trees, established 202 self-management models for environmental protection and climate change adaptation, as well as motivated local religious and residents to collect and discharge garbage and waste in right places, not to use electrical impulses and mines for fishing, etc.
During the meeting, participating delegates discussed and signed the coordination program on environmental protection and climate change adaption for the 2023-2026 period with contents including the communication work on environment conservation and climate change adaption, expansion and replication of key models on environment protection suiting each religion in localities, establishment of clean-beautiful-civilized religious worshipping places, donation of funds for environment protection and climate change adaption and aids sent to people badly affected by disasters and floods, etc.
On the occasion, eight religious groups and 12 individuals received certificates of commendation for their outstanding contributions in the implementation of the coordination program for the 2017-2022 period.
