New Catholic parish in Tien Giang established

My Loi parish under My Tho diocese in My Loi B commune of Tien Giang province’s Cai Be district has held a mass for its formal establishment and inauguration of its church.

The ceremony was presided over Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho diocese and Priest Peter Nguyễn Ngọc Long, the newly appointed Head of the parish, and joint by representatives from local authorities, priests of the diocese and a large member of parishioners in the parish.

My Loi parish was originally established in 1890 and currently has about 700 Catholic followers.

In 2020, My Loi parish got the approval from local authorities for its establishment and reconstruction of its new church.
