The Executive Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in Khanh An commune of An Giang province’s An Phu district held on July 19 a ceremony for inaugurating its new An Hoa Tu B temple.

The event saw the presence of Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Tùng Châu, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Central Executive Committee Lê Ngọc Lợi, and Chairman of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Executive Committee in the province Nguyễn Văn Tát.

The An Hoa Tu B temple, also known as Cay Coc pagoda, was originally built in 1962 from simple materials of woods and bamboo trees, and repaired in 1979.
The re-construction of the temple was started in 2018 on an area of 6,535 m2 including a main worshipping hall on 405 m2 and auxiliary works, with a concrete floor structures and tile roofs. The construction cost was donated by members of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church and sponsors in the province and other localities.
During the ceremony, the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Central Executive Committee presented certificates of merit to groups and individuals who had made practical contributions to the new temple’s construction.
