The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Ben Tre province’s Chau Thanh district held on July 23 a ceremony for formally appointing the abbot of Bao Tam pagoda located in Quoi Thanh commune of the district.

The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Thiện Đức, Member of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City; Most Venerable Thích Nhựt Tấn, Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Ben Tre; and Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Bé Mười.
During the event, the VBS executive committee in Ben Tre announced the decision appointing Senior Venerable Thích Trung Nguyện, Deputy Secretary of the VBS executive committee in Ho Chi Minh City as Abbot of Bao Tam pagoda, as well as presented the decision and seal to the new abbot.
As reported, Bao Tam pagoda has just been established since June, 2021.
