A program for planting 1,000 trees was launched on February 20 at Kim Dung pagoda located in Loc Ha town of Ha Tinh province’s Loc Ha district.

The event was held by the Natural Resources and Environment Department in Ha Tinh province in collaboration with Loc Ha district People’s Committee, Kim Dung pagoda, and concerning local agencies.
This is part of the project “Green Pagoda” having been launched by the Natural Resources and Environment Magazine in collaboration with sponsoring companies for planting trees at worshipping places and cultural relic sites in the country.
The project aims to respond to the Prime Minister’s call at Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 31, 2020 on organizing the “Tree planting festival” movement and the initiative to plant one billion trees in 2021-2025 period, contributing to promoting the tree planting amongst monks, nuns, lay Buddhists and locals in provinces and cities, and better understanding of ecological environment improvement and natural disaster prevention and control.
