The grassroots congress of Hoa Nam and Tho Quang Theravada Buddhist temples under the Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church in Da Nang city was successfully held on August 25.

The event taking place at Hoa Nam pagoda in Hoa Nhon commune of Hoa Vang district saw the presence of Vice Chairman of the city Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Đình Tuấn, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in Hoa Vang district Nguyễn Thúc Dũng and about 300 dignitaries and members of Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church in the district.
Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Thúc Dũng praised Hoa Nam and Tho Quang temples for their outstanding contributions to the socio-economic development in the locality over the past years.
According to the local official, the Minh Su Theravada Buddhist Church and temples in the city have spent over 600 million VND on social charities including support supplies to the poor and lonely elders, provision of health-check and medicines to poor households, donations to the Fund the poor in Hoa Vang district and support of essential supplies to isolated areas due to Covid-19 pandemic, etc.
