The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang province held on March 12 a fish release program at Lac Hong park located in My Tho City.

This 2nd fish release event was part of a joint program on aquatic resources protection in the Mekong Delta between the provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Department and the VBS executive committee in Tien Giang on occasion of the 2566th Buddha’s Birthday and ahead of the provincial VBS congress to be held in June.
The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Giác Nhân and Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Lộc, Vice Chairmen of the VBS executive committee, and Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department under the provincial Agriculture and Rural Development Department Nguyễn Trọng Tuy.
During the event, three tons of catfish, red tilapia, etc. were released to Tien River.
