The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) held on June 16 a seminar on methods for mobilizing and attracting religious women to join in the union.
The event taking place in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province saw the presence of Vice Chairwoman of the VWU Bùi Thị Hòa, the Vietnam Women’s Association in Bien Hoa city and representatives from local authorities from religious-concentrated districts, and religious dignitaries in the province.
During the event, participating delegates discussed current situation of religions, religious congregations in the province; practical contributions by religious women for the development of religions in particular and localities in general; roles of local authorities in implementing religious policies in the locality and mobilizing religious women to participate in local movements in general and women association’s programs in particular.
On the occasion, the VWU groups also visited and conducted surveys by ballots and in-depth interviews at Tan Mai Catholic parish, concerning provincial departments and agencies, and three religious dignitaries representing Catholicism, Buddhism and Protestantism in the province.
