Handover ceremony between Ethnic and Religious Affairs Ministry and Home Affairs Ministry

The Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Ministry Đào Ngọc Dung chaired on March 1 a ceremony for the handover of tasks of the administration on belief and religion from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

The event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hải Trung, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng and Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc.

Speaking at gathering, Minister Đào Ngọc Dung stated that the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs was established with the transfer the full tasks of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the state administration state on religious affairs to the newly ethnic and religious ministry. The establishment of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs is a historic development, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of the state administration on religious affairs, create favorable conditions for religions to develop in accordance with legal regulations, while promoting a harmonious religious life in the country, he added.

Minister Đào Ngọc Dung expressed hope that, with the positive past results and experienced personnel contingent, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs would continue to successfully fulfill its assigned tasks.

During the event, in the presence of delegates from the two ministries, Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hải Trung and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng signed a Minutes of handover of religious affairs functions between the two ministries.

According to the Minutes of handover, the Ministry of Home Affairs will transfer the organizational structure, personnel, and functions of the state administration on religion of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs in accordance with current regulations.
