Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Thị Minh Nga attended on November 19 a fostering conference held in Nha Trang city from November 19-22 for providing defense-security knowledge for religious dignitaries of religious organizations in provinces and cities in the 5th Military Region in Nha Trang city.

The event was organized by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, in association with the Standing Board of the Central Council for Defense-Security Education and the Council for Defense-Security Education in the 5th Military Region, with 130 participants representing religious organizations from 11 cities and provinces of Kon Tum, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Dak Nong.
The four-day conference covers contents of the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on religious and ethnicity and; the Party and State’s stands and policies on maintaining political security, culture and ideology and economic development in the current context; certain issues on socio-economic development in combination with defense-security enhancement, external affairs in the new period; the prevention and fight against hostile forces’ “peaceful evolution” and other plots aimed at attacking Vietnam; and basic contents of the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree 95, and other legal regulations relating to belief and religion, etc.

The course aims to enhance religious dignitaries’ understanding of the Party and State’s viewpoints, policies and laws on defense and security, belief and religion, the schemes of hostile forces and ill-will elements, the maintenance of security and order, contributing to strengthening national defense and security in localities in particular, and building and protecting the Homeland in general.
