Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng extends Christmas greetings to Hanoi Archdiocese

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng visited on December 23 Hanoi Archdiocese, ahead of Christmas 2024.

The Deputy Minister accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng was welcomed by Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên who currently serves as Vice President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam.

At the visiting reception, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extended merry Christmas and happy New Year to Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên and all priests, clergymen, clergywomen and lay Catholics of the Archdiocese. He also shared with the Archbishop about the visit of Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính to the Lao Cai parish on December 22, which was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by the local Catholics.

For his part, Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên expressed his honor to receive  the Christmas visit of the Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình on December 22, and took the chance to thank the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, leaders of the GCRA and local authorities for supports extended to practices of religion in general, and Catholicism in particular.

He also extended merry Christmas and happy New Year to the Deputy Minister and the GCRA official.
