Provincial authorities in Thanh Hoa province held on December 11 a gathering with key Catholics of Thanh Hoa diocese, on the occasion of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.

Attending the event included Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee in Thanh Hoa province Nguyễn Doãn Anh, officials of the provincial people’s committee and people’s council, Bishop Joseph Nguyễn Đức Cường of Thanh Hoa diocese who also serves as Chairman of the Vietnam Catholic Bishops’ Conference’s Justice and Peace Commission, and Catholic priests and followers of the diocese.

During the gathering, while extending warm greetings of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 to Bishop Josseph Nguyễn Đức Cường and priests and all Catholic followers of Thanh Hoa diocese, Secretary Nguyễn Doãn Anh shared with the guests outstanding achievements of the province over the past years, as well as highlighted practical contributions made by Catholics for socio-economic development, especially social charities, in the locality.
The provincial Party’s committee’s official also expressed hope that the Catholic community in the province would continue “Living the Gospel among the people to serve the happiness of our compatriots”, promoting fine traditions, and closely accompanying the nation and local authorities, contributing to the development of the country in general, and Thanh Hoa province in particular.

On behalf of Catholic priests and followers of Thanh Hoa diocese, Bishop Joseph Nguyễn Đức Cường thanked provincial authorities for due attention and supports extended to the diocese, and affirmed that the diocese would continue encouraging Catholics to actively engage in patriotic movements launched in the locality, and promote social cohesion and unity, contributing more to the development of the province.
