Vice President, Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh, hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 31 for a delegation of 21 patriarchs of ethnic minority groups in Ninh Thuan province.

Vice President Thịnh hailed that, through their actions, the patriarchs have set themselves as shining examples in encouraging their descendants’ participation in safeguarding and protecting their ethnic cultural values.

She also spoke highly of the guests’ efforts in mobilising their fellow villagers to eradicate backward customs, practice a virtuous lifestyle, and build new rural areas.

She noted with pleasure that the patriarchs have taken the leading role in their communities in developing the local economy, reducing poverty, and applying advanced technology in farming and production, thus helping to bring about positive changes in the locals’ agricultural practices.

While applauding the patriarchs’ significant contributions to the local socio-economic development, the State official stressed that the Party and State always attach great care to and create the most favourable conditions for ethnic minority groups.

She expressed her hope that the guests would continue mobilising local people to observe Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws, while playing the vanguard role in the locality’s social campaigns and making further contributions to Ninh Thuan’s development.
