Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyễn Hữu Dũng led a delegation to visit Tam Chau Catholic parish in Ninh Binh province’s Yen Khanh district on October 5.
Priest Member of the VFF in the province, member of the provincial People’s Council for the 2016-2021 tenure cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) John Nguyễn Văn Giao welcomed the VFF delegation.
During the visit, VFF Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Dũng praised practical contributions made by Priest John Nguyễn Văn Giao, Catholic followers of the parish over the past years. He also called on Catholic dignitaries and followers to proactively join in local movements, contributing to the socio-economic development in the locality.
On the occasion, Vice President VFF Nguyễn Hữu Dũng presented gift sets to five poor families in Yen Khanh district.
Tam Chau parish was established in 1940 in Ninh Binh province’s Yen Khanh district and currently administrated by Priest John Nguyễn Văn Giao. The parish presently has 350 Catholic households with over 1,500 followers including three congregations of Tri So, Phuc Nguyen and Phuc Chau.
