The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Tra Vinh held on October 14 a meeting with leaders representing religious organization in the province.

The event was chaired by Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Kiên Banh and attended by representatives from local authorities and leaders of religious organizations in the province.

As reported at the event, Tra Vinh province currently has nine operative religions. Religious organizations in collaboration with the VFF at all levels and local authorities has held 10 meetings on World Environment Day (June 5), launched models promoting religious engagement in environment protection and climate changes, planted 33,000 tree and flowers for building green-beautiful-clean roads.
The provincial VFF has also held four meetings with the participation of 70 religious dignitaries in the province and visited outstanding dignitaries and elites of the Khmer Buddhist Theravada on occasion of traditional festivals.
During the event, religious participants gave comments on r ethnic and religious issues in the province; the import of Buddhist cultural products and statues from abroad into Vietnam; procedures related to religious land; the district – level congresses of the Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist Monks, etc.
