The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Soc Trang held on January 17 a meeting with outstanding religious dignitaries and deacons in the province ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2022.
At the meeting
Attending the event included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Hồ Thị Cẩm Đào, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Văn Lâu, Chairman of the provincial VFF Dương Sà Kha, and 120 religious dignitaries and deacons in the province.
During the event, Chairman Trần Văn Lâu informed results of socio-economic development of the locality in 2021 and spoke highly of practical contributions made by religious dignitaries, deacons and lay followers to the socio-economic development and the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.
He also called on religious dignitaries to continue encouraging lay followers to accompany with local authorities for the development of the locality.
On the upcoming of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2022, Chairman Trần Văn Lâu took the chance to extend wishes of happiness and prosperity to all religious dignitaries, deacons and lay followers in the locality.
On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of recommendation to 19 outstanding religious groups for their practical contributions in social charities launched in Soc Trang province.
