The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Dong Nai held on May 31 a meeting on a coordination program with the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee and the provincial Committee for Solidarity Catholics of Vietnam (CSCV).

The event saw the participation of Chairman of the provincial VFF Cao Văn Quang, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Phạm Thị Kim Chung, Senior Venerable Thích Huệ Sanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee, and Priest Dominic Trần Xuân Thảo, Chairman of the provincial CSCV.
According to Chairman of the provincial VFF Cao Văn Quang, the two religious organizations have spent over 450 billion VND on social and charitable activities for the past two years. In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Buddhist and Catholic followers in the province have contributed over 200 billion VND for donating medical equipment and essential supplies to people affected by the pandemic and 653 religious dignitaries, deacons, clergies and followers have joint frontline forces against the epidemic.

In the coming time, the provincial VFF will closely with the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee and the provincial CSCV to promote fine religious traditions and encourage lay religious to join hands with local authorities in carrying for the disadvantaged and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
