VFF in Ca Mau supervises implementation of laws on belief and religion

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Ca Mau province Nguyễn Văn Khởi led a delegation at a working meeting held on August 31 with the People’s Committee in the province’s Tran Van Thoi district on the implementation of the State’s laws on belief and religion.

According to a report of the People’s Committee in Tran Van Thoi district, the district has currently 6 religions with 16 religious organizations, 10,153 followers (1,875 followers are ethnic minorities), 35 religious dignitaries, 173 deacons and seven meeting groups of Catholicism and Protestant sects, and 57 belief worshipping places.

For the past years, local authorities in Tran Van Thoi district have organized 124 disseminating conferences on the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree.
