VBS in Gia Lai joins program promoting traffic safety

The Traffic Safety Board in Gia Lai province in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee held on August 7 a ceremony to sign a cooperation program on the propaganda on traffic safety for 2022-2025 period.

At the signing ceremony

The cooperation program aims at enhancing dissemination and propagation of laws on traffic safety and raising awareness of local monks, nuns and lay Buddhists about traffic safety.

Attending the event included Deputy Director of Department of Transport Lê Văn Hạnh, Chairman of the provincial religious committee Hồ Hải Tần, Most Venerable Thích Từ Vân, Chairman of the provincial VBS’s executive committee, representatives from concern agencies, and a large number of monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the province.

During the event, Deputy Director Lê Văn Hạnh reported that 141 people were killed and another 165 injured in 197 traffic accidents in Gia Lai province in the seven months of 2022.
