The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Ben Tre province in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in the province and Giong Trom district organized on October 3 a meeting for launching practical programs providing social welfares in the province.
The event held on occasion of the 11th Party Congress in Ben Tre province and 90th founding anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front saw the presence of Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Trần Ngọc Tam, Chairman of the provincial VFF Đoàn Văn Đảnh, Senior Venerable Thích Trí Thuận, Head of the VBS’s social charity board, representatives from local authorities, abbots and abbesses of the Buddhist worshipping places in Giong Trom district.
During the event, Senior Venerable Thích Trí Thuận presented 60 gift sets including rice, noodles, cooking oil, etc to local poor households and 200 study boxes to pupils with difficult circumstances, and contributed 100 million VND to build a bridge in Giong Tom district.
As reported that, this is the 5th bridges sponsored by the provincial VBS’s social charity board in collaboration with the provincial VFF.
