The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council issued on January 28 a dispatch asking the VBS’s executive committees in provinces and cities and Buddhist worshipping establishments to strengthen the Covid-19 epidemic prevention during Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.
The dispatch signed by Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President cum General Secretary of the VBS was the VBS’s latest response to new complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in several Northern provinces and cities.
According to the dispatch, the central VBS executive council asked the VBS executive committees in provinces and cities and Buddhist worshipping establishments to strictly implement Directive No. 05/CT-TTg dated January 28, 2021 on some urgent Covid-19 prevention and control measures, emphasizing that all people have to wear masks and wash their hands when they come to Buddhist worshipping establishments.
The central VBS’s executive council also asked Buddhist worshipping establishments to closely follow the Covid-19 epidemic development and the guidance of the central and provincial authorities for religious practices at religious establishments.
