Training on climate change adaption held for Buddhist monks, nuns in Hue

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) held on October 15-16 a training workshop on climate change adaption for Buddhist students of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Thua Thien Hue province.  

The event saw the presence of Vice President of the VFF Ngô Sách Thực, Deputy Director of the Climate Change Department under the MoNRE Phạm Văn Tấn, and nearly 400 Buddhist monks and nuns of the Buddhist Institute in Hue.

The conference created an opportunity to update information on global climate change and skills for response climate change, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as discuss roles of religions in environmental protection and climate change adaption.

The event covered key contents the State’s laws and policies on environmental protection, the national strategy and action plan for climate change, as well as practical skills and good models for climate change adaption.
