Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Trần Long Thôn hosted on November 20 a reception for a visiting delegation from the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhism.
On behalf of the delegation, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhism Nguyễn Tấn Đạt shared with the hosts religious practices of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in the country in general and in Tien Giang province in particular.
Speaking at the event, while acknowledge practical contributions by local Hoa Hao Buddhists through social and charities over the past years, Chairman Trần Long Thôn stated that local authorities would further create favorable conditions for religious practices of Hoa Hao Buddhists in the province.
Hoa Hao Buddhist Church currently has 1.3 million followers residing mainly in southwest provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, etc. Hoa Hao Buddhism in Tien Giang province has 100 deacons and about 2,000 followers.
