Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Trần Long Thôn led on May 22 a delegation to visit and meet with dignitaries of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in the province on occasion of Vesak Day or the Buddha’s Birthday 2018 ( B.E. 2561).
Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Huệ Minh welcomed the delegation at Vinh Trang pagoda.
During the visiting reception, while extending best wishes to the VBS’s Executive Committee and all Buddhist followers in the province on occasion of the Vesak Day 2018, Chairman Trần Long Thôn praised Buddhist dignitaries and followers for their contributions to social welfare in the locality over the past tim.
Most Venerable Thích Huệ Minh took the chance to thank local authorities for attentive support extended to Buddhist practices over the past time and pledged to continue encouraging followers to actively engage in local movements for boosting socio-economic development in the locality.
