Thuy Mon Temple site recognized as national historic relic site

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued on June 29 a decision for recognition of Thuy Mon Temple located in Dong Dang town, Lang Son province’s Cao Loc district as the national historic relic.

Thuy Mon Temple is located in Phia Mat mountain in Cao Loc district’s Dong Dang town, about 15km from Lang Son city.

Thuy Mon Temple stele was erected in 1670 by Mr. Nguyễn Đình Lộc – an official of Le Dynasty. The stele recorded good deeds of a historic period for descendants to take these as good examples in protecting the border of the Homeland.

The stele at Thuy Mon Temple was placed on the back of stone turtle statue with 1.3 m in height, 0.82 m in width and 0.25 m in thickness.

The recorded content of the stele was carved in Chinese characters, including 33 lines, 869 characters in two sides of the stele.

Thuy Mon Temple has been classified as the provincial historic site by Lang Son provincial People’s Committee in 2002 and the national treasure by the Prime Minister in 2015.
