During the visit, Chairman Phan Ngọc Thọ extended congratulations to Archbishop Nguyễn Chí Linh. He also expressed hope that the Archbishop and dignitaries of the Catholic Church in Vietnam would continue encouraging followers to implement the teachings “a good Catholic must be a good citizen”, and “Living the Gospel amidst the heart of the Nation to serve the happiness of compatriots”, as well as promoting the Catholic ethnic values for socio-economic development of the country.

As reported, Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh was re-elected as President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam at the 14th assembly of the CBCV held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 in Hai Phong city.
