The army honors typical models in mass mobilization work

The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army held a meeting on October 11 to honor typical models in mass mobilization work in ethnic minorities and religious areas for the 2013-2018 period.

The event saw the presence of General Ngô Xuân Lịch, Politburo member, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission cum Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Lương Cường, Head of the General Department of Politics and representatives from central agencies.

The meeting aimed to honor typical groups and individuals of the military units with great achievements in mass mobilization work over the past five years.

A reported at the event, over the past five years, military units have supported over 17,800 households with 128,000 people to move and work in military-run cooperation, created jobs for over 133,000 people, helped 370 Hmong households migrated from North to the Central Highlands, provided free health-check and medicines for millions of people. In addition, the Border Guard has provided assistance to over 2,900 disadvantaged pupils.

During the event, the General Department of Politics presented certificates of merit to 40 groups and 50 individuals for their outstanding achievements in mass mobilization work in ethnic minorities and religious concentrated areas over the past five years.
