The Management Board of Con Son-Kiep Bac relic in collaboration with Hung Dao commune People’s Committee in Hai Duong province’s Chi Linh district held on November 5 a ceremony for commemorating the 730th death anniversary of Nguyên Từ Quốc Mẫu.
The ceremony saw the presence of representative leaders of Hai Duong authorities, thousands of locals and tourists taking part in worshiping rituals in the day.
The event is a long tradition of locals in Duoc Son, Bac Dau, Van Yen villages of Hung Dao commune. It is annually held on the 28th nine lunar month for honoring the merits of Nguyên Từ Quốc Mẫu (Nguyên Từ National Mother).
The event this year featured the traditional rituals including the procession, the incense-offering, commemoration, prayers for peace and prosperity, and art performances.

According to history, Nguyên Từ Quốc Mẫu or Thiên Thành princess was the eldest daughter of King Trần Thái Tông and the wife of General Trần Quốc Tuấn. She and her husband joined the resistance wars against the Mongols in 1285 and 1288. She was assigned with many important roles by the King and the General during the wars including tasks for providing of logistics and medicines for the army.
