Dong Thap province’s Lai Vung district authorities held on January 29 a meeting with dignitaries and deacons of religions in the district ahead of the lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.
The event saw the presence of officials from the district authorities and 38 representatives of local religious organizations and worshipping places in the district.
During the event, the district authorities informed results of socio-economic development in the district in 2020 and asked local religious organizations continue promoting their role in motivating people to actively participate in social movements and programs launched by local authorities for socio-economic development of the district.
At the meeting, the religious dignitaries expressed hope that local authorities of Lai Vung district would create favorable conditions for religious practices by local people in the district.
