Support for survey on religious, belief worshipping establishments in Economic Census 2021

The General Statistics Office has been conducting the second phase of 2021 economic census from July 1 to July 30, 2021 across the country, aiming to collect information on more than five million individual production and business establishments and religious establishments.

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Executive Committee on July 2 sent a notice to the provincial level VBS’s Executive Committee, pagodas and Buddhist monasteries asking for their collaboration with local authorities in providing information for pollsters according to a standard form on religious worshipping establishments.

In particular, information in Section A4 on Buddhist establishment affairs includes the financial transaction in management and operation of the religious establishment such as offerings, daily expenses, bills of electricity, water, fuels, expenditure in renovation and repair of establishment facilities and other remunerations, funds for charitable activities (only the contributions by establishments, excluding donations of believers and sponsors) in order to ensure the accuracy of merit contributions to abbots and Buddhist establishment.

Section A4.2 includes information additional to belief – related activities such as production, craft making and publication, etc.

Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in An Giang has also sent notice to the commune-level executive board, the management board of Hoa Hao Buddhist worshipping places and Hoa Hao Buddhist in the locality to asking for their collaboration in the data collection process on religious places in the 2021 Economic census.
