The provincial Committee for Religious Affairs has annually held exchanges with key members of religious organizations in order to promptly receive feedbacks and further comments of local religious organizations, and strengthen the cohesion between local authorities and religious communities.

Recently, 100 key members representing followers of five religions of Cao Dai, Hoa Hao Buddhism, Pure Land Buddhist Association, Islam and Tu An Hieu Nghia (Four Debt Gratitude), and 40 pastors representing 19,000 members of Protestant communities in Dong Nai attended two separate exchange meetings held on July 31 and August 1 by the provincial religious committee.

At the gatherings, religious participants raised comments to local authorities on practical issues relating to the issuance of land use rights licenses, the security and order situation in localities, and cyber fraud crimes related to religious activities, etc.

Speaking with representatives of religious organizations, Chairman of the provincial religious committee Nguyễn Đình Kiên expressed hope that leaders of religious organizations would continue collaborating with local authorities in encouraging religious people to well implement the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws in religious practices, and proactively participate in patriotic emulation movements launched by local authorities.

According to the provincial religious affairs committee, over the last years, religious communities in the province have made practical contributions for socio-economic development, effectively engaged with local authorities to implement social and charitable programs. Specifically, religious organizations have carried out social charities with a total value of over 353.500 billion VND in 2023.

The above results partly reflect practical results of the state management on belief and religion in the province. In 2023, the province has organized 22 law-disseminating conferences, drawing the participation of nearly 2,200 key religious and representatives of belief worshipping places, and over 1,100 district-level cadres tasked with religious affairs. The provincial religious committee also coordinated with Military Region 7 and the provincial Defense and Security Education Council in two training courses on national defense and security held for key members of religious organizations in the locality.
