A ceremony for launching the 6th blood donation campaign and Red Spring Festival 2019 took place at Dai Bi pagoda located in Thanh Hoa city on January 5.
The event taking place on occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year 2019 was co-organized by the provincial steering board for voluntary blood donation, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in the province and the province-based Voluntary Blood Donation Club.
Attending the event included Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Đỗ Trọng Hưng, Chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross Association Trịnh Thị Tiếp, representative leaders of the provincial departments and agencies, and blood donors from 22 departments, agencies and enterprises in Thanh Hoa province.
Thanh Hoa province is one of 37 provinces and cities across the country organizing the Red Spring Festival 2019. As reported, the voluntary event attracted more than 1,000 volunteers and collected nearly 600 units of blood, contributing to timely meet emergency treatments of patients at hospitals in the province.
