10/13/2021

Hai Duong provincial Party’s Committee held on October 11 a seminar on  the state management on religious construction works in the province.

The event was co-chaired by Standing Deputy Secretary of provincial Party’s Committee Lê Văn Hiệu and heads of the provincial commission for mass mobilization and the provincial department of construction, and was attended by representatives from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha chapter, the Vietnam Evangelical Church (North) chapter, and Hai Duong Catholic parish in the province, and concerning local agencies.

As reported at the event, Hai Duong currently has 1,163 religious worshipping places, in which 900 establishments have been granted land use right certificates. Besides, from January 2015 to June 2021, there has been 628 religious construction works in the province, of which 111 are licensed.

The seminar drew eight presentation papers reviewing results of the state management on religious construction works in the province over the past years, including limitations. Specifically, there have still been constructions without permission, the coordination between local authorities and concerning sectors is not well adequate and there is no consensus on land management and construction in some places, a large number of dignitaries, deacons and management boards of religious worshipping places have not yet fully understood administrative procedures on building religious construction works, and many construction works do not meet the safety requirements for fire prevention and fighting, etc.
