Seminar on religious land certification held in Lam Dong

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on May 13 a seminar on land registration and the issuance of land use right certificates for belief and religious worshipping establishments in Lam Dong province.

The event taking place at provincial Administration Center saw the presence of the GCRA Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Director of the GCRA’s Legal and Inspection Department Nguyễn Thị Định, representatives of the district-level natural resources and environment office in the province, and about 20 religious dignitaries, deacons and representatives of belief worshipping places in the locality.

The seminar aimed to clarify problems in land registration and the land use right certificate issuance for belief and religious worshipping places in Lam Dong, discuss and propose amendments and supplements to current provisions of laws on land related to belief and religion, in order to create more favorable conditions for belief and religious worshipping establishments in the province in particular and the country in general.

During the event, participating religious dignitaries, deacons and representatives of belief worshipping places also commented on difficulties in land registration and issuance of land use right certificates such as a slow implementation and cumbersome administrative procedures of land allocation and issuance of land use right certificates in some localities.

As reported, Lam Dong province currently has 432 religious establishments allocated land with the total area of ​​about 480.42 hectares for purposes of religious practices, perennial crops, agricultural production, and education institutions by the provincial People's Committee, in which 409 religious establishments have been granted land use right certificates.

Amongst 278 worshipping places of folk belief in the province, 70 places have been granted land use right certificates and 10 places have been ranked as provincial-level historical and cultural relic sites.
