The seminar themed “Religions in South region  - Approaching from practice of rites” was held by the Faculty of Anthropology under the Ho Chi Minh city University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).

Presenting at the seminar included Dr. Deputy Principal of the USSH Phan Thanh Định, Assoc. Prof. Dr Director of the Faculty of Anthropology Huỳnh Ngọc Thu and large numbers of  researchers and state officials from the institute, the provincial religious committees and the culture, sports and tourism departments of the Southern region, and religious dignitaries of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodaism, Hoa Hoa Buddhism and Baha’i faith.

The event covered two main topics of the theory and practice of religious rites in the South region.

According to Dr. Phan Thanh Định, the seminar aimed to understand religious rituals and practice of religions in the South region in depth and their impacts on the life of local people and communities, as well as theoretical and practical values of practices of religious rites, contributing to religious studies and teaching at the USSH in particular, and universities in the South in general.
