Review of five-year implementation of security protection movement in religious-concentrated areas in Nam Dinh

The five-year implementation of the movement launched for engaging all people in protecting public security in religious-concentrated areas in Nam Dinh has been reviewed at a conference held on October 16 by the provincial government.
The event was chaired by Lieutenant-General Trần Quốc Tỏ, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and attended by Chairman of Nam Dinh provincial People’s Committee Phạm Đình Nghị, heads of districts in Nam Dinh, representatives of religious organizations and concerning departments and agencies in the province, and 55 outstanding individuals in the public security protection movement.
Nam Dinh has three major religions of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism, with the third largest number of Catholics in the country and the second largest Buddhist followers in Vietnam North.

As reported at the event, the implementation of the movement promoting engagement of all people for protecting public security in religiou-concentrated areas in Nam Dinh province in the last five years recorded many outstanding achievements. Since 2015, followers of religions in Nam Dinh have provided thousands of valuable pieces of information relating public security that helped competent authorities successfully investigate about 2,500 security-related cases.
At the reviewing conference, 26 groups and 49 individuals have been awarded with certificates of recommendation from the ministry of public security, the provincial government of Nam Dinh and the public security department in the province for their outstanding contributions to the movement launched for engaging all people in public security protection in the locality.
