06/10/2020

On May 28, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to listen to a report on remaking nomination file submitted to UNESCO for recognizing Yen Tu relic site as the world heritage.

Vice Chairman of the provincial Peoples’ Committee Đặng Huy Hậu chaired the meeting.

From 2012, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee assigned Quang Ninh Key Relics Management Board to prepare the scientific dossier submitted to UNESCO for recognizing Yen Tu relic site as the world heritage. In 2014, the website of the world heritage centre officially included Yen Tu into the tentative world heritage nomination list.

After hearing the report presented by the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, experts have discussed issues concerning the scale, scope, criteria for making the dossier, implementation time, management and propaganda work etc.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Đặng Huy Hậu asked the Department of Culture and Sport in coordination with the national cultural heritage council to build an implementation roadmap, organize meetings to connect and discuss with relevant localities to have consensus on the work list. The final nomination file submitted to UNESCO is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
