Religious places in Tay Ninh suspend large gatherings

Large gatherings in Tay Ninh province have been effectively restricted at worshipping places, including religious establishment.  

Tay Ninh Holy See of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church has strictly observed instructions of the Prime Minister and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

According to Eminence Cardinal Thuong Tam Thanh, Chairman of the Sacerdotal Council of the Caodai Church, only religious gatherings of the maximum of 20 people have taken place, and in such gatherings people kept distance from each other and all wore handmasks.


Number of people attending religious activites have been limited.

Sunday services at Catholic and Protestant churches have also been canceled and they have been changed to social media instead.

Pastor Trương Thiên Tín, Head of Tan Ninh Evangelical Chapter under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) shared that “We have held programs through internet, livestream through facebook,…” and instructed members to avoid large gatherings.

Large gatherings at Buddhist pagodas in the province have also been strictly prohibited.

Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department of Tay Ninh Trần Minh Nay informed that all five major religions and other faith organizations in the locality have strictly observed the rule requesting not to hold large gatherings for preventing the spread of Covid-19, and indispensable services, such as funeral services, have also been informed to limit attending members.
