Long Tri A commune Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hau Giang province’s Long My town announced the establishment of a Buddhist charity group to help poor people in the locality.
The group consists of 12 members from the management board of Hung Tri Buddhist temple in Village 7, Long Tri A commune. Members of the group in collaboration with local authorities will raise funds for helping disadvantaged families. After collecting donations, the group will presents support to the poor locals. In particularly, the elders and orphans will get a regular assistance from the group every month. This charity model of the management board of Hung Tri temple will be expanded to remaining of villages in Long Tri A commune.
On this occasion, members of the group presented 15 kg of rice to each of 13 disadvantaged families in Village 7 and donated 80 notebooks to four families whose children still go to school.
