Religious organizations continue supporting Covid-19 prevention work in localities

On September 25, Most Venerable Thạch Oai, Vice Chairman of the the association for solidarity of patriotic Buddhist monks in Tra Vinh province cum Abbot of Kom Pong pagoda based in Tra Vinh city in collaboration with authorities of Ward 1 and Long Duc commune presented 200 sets of supplies to poor Khmer households in the locality.  

Each set included rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, soy sauce, sugar and monosodium glutamate. The essential supplies worth 60 million VND in total, was mobilized by Most Venerable Thạch Oai, from Buddhists and other donors.

*Responding the program “lovely Saigon” launched by Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, President of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV), Ho Chi Minh city Caritas and the office of the CBCV has continued sending support supplies to parishes of the Archdiocese.

On September 24, each of 203 parishes of the Archdiocese received 120 support packages for sending to people facing difficulties regardless of religion. Each package including rice and noodle cost 350,000 VND.

*In order to share difficulties with Khmer Protestants of Tra Cu evangelical chapter in Tra Vinh province’s Tra Cu district, Commissioned Pastor Nguyễn Ngọc Đờn, Head of the chapter has visited and presented 30 sets of supplies to Khmer Protestants in Ngoc Bien commune.

Each set contained 10 kg of rice, 1kg of sugar, one bottle of fish sauce, one bottle of soy sauce, and two bottles of canned fish.

*Earlier, in Can Tho city, the Executive Board of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in Tan Loc ward, Thot Not district, Can Tho city in collaboration with contributors and volunteers have gathered five tons of fruits and vegetables, 750 kg of rice, 10 cartons of milk, 20 boxes of instant noodles, and other necessities for delivering to people in need in An Binh ward, Binh Duong province’s Di An city, with the total contributing valued of 30 million VND.
