Nghe An provincial Committee for Religious Affairs (PCRA) reviewed religious affairs in 2017 and mapped out working plans for 2018 at a meeting held on January 15.
The event saw the participation of Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Xuân Đường and all PCRA’s officials.
Currently, Nghe An province is home to large numbers of Catholicism and Buddhism. As reported at the meeting, in 2017, the local authorities created favorable conditions for religious activities of organizations. However, land disputes related to religion still remained high with 64 cases out of the total 105 land dispute in the province over the past two years.
During the event, 13 groups and 15 individuals have received certificates of merit by the provincial People’s Committee and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.
