The Committee for Religious Affairs in Ho Chi Minh city issued on October 5 a dispatch on the implementation of Ho Chi Minh city authorities’ Directive 18 regarding religious practices in the city.
Accordingly, due to the ongoing complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh city in particular and the whole country in general, the municipal religious committee asked religious organizations, sub-religious organizations and groups to guide religious practices with a maximum of 60 people and at least 90% of participants having been injected with two doses of vaccines or having fully recovered from Covid-19.
At masses, religious followers would have to proactively take preventive measures against the pandemic guided by the Ministry of Health and related agencies such as wearing masks, disinfecting hands, keeping distance and ensuring religious establishments disinfected.
The municipal religious committee also requested representatives of foreign groups to conduct religious activities in accordance with new guidelines of the municipal authorities for the pandemic prevention.
