The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Standing Board in Gia Lai province’s Ia Grai district paid on December 8 a visit to the Committee for Religious Affairs on occasion of its 3rd congress for the 2021-2026 tenure.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Nô welcomed the Buddhist delegation.
During the visiting reception, Venerable Thích Giác Liêm, Head of the provincial VBS’s Supervision Board cum new Head of the district VBS’s Executive Board took the chance to provincial authorities in general and the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs in particular for creating favorable conditions for Buddhist affairs over the past years and the 3rd successful congress of the district VBS chapter.
Speaking with the guests, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Nô highly appreciated practical roles of the district VBS Chapter in guiding religious practices of local Buddhists over the past years. He also urged the district VBS Chapter to encourage Buddhist followers to proactively respond to patriotic movements launched in the locality.
