A delegation led by Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in An Giang province Nguyễn Phú has visited Khmer Buddhist dignitaries in the province, on the occasion of Sene Dolta Festival 2020.
During the visits, Chairman Nguyễn Phú extended warm celebrations of Sene Dolta to Khmer monks and people as well as praised their practical contributions for socio-economic development in the province.
The official also expressed hope that Khmer Buddhist dignitaries will continue proactively responding to social movements and taking preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic at pagodas in the locality.
Sene Dolta Festival this year is taking place from September 16-28. The event is one of three important festivals of Khmer people. During the festival, people often practice offering worshipping at pagodas and their home in gratitude of their ancestors and the deceased.
