Religious Committee in An Giang pays visit to Buddhist nun ahead of national reunification day
The Committee for Religious Affairs in An Giang province in collaboration with the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee paid on April 25 a visit to Superior Nun Thích nữ Diệu Thông at That Buu pagoda in Chau Thanh district on occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975).

During the visit, the delegation extended best wishes to Superior Nun Thích nữ Diệu Thông and expressed deep gratitude for her contributions in cause of the revolution and national unification.
Superior Nun Thích Nữ Diệu Thông’s real name is Phạm Thị Bạch Liên, was born in 1931. During the war against American forces, she served as a liaison official and scout of the Saigon-Gia Dinh Rangers with alias as Huyền Trang. The life of the nun was built into the character of Nun Huyền Trang in the movie "Saigon Special Forces".
