Lac Son district in the northern province of Hoa Binh province currently has about 2,000 religious followers (accounting for 2% the district population).
The majority of religious followers in the district have come from provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh, and currently reside in eight communes of the district.
Over the past years, the district authorities have paid due attention to religious practices of people in the district. The Party’s and the State’s guidelines and policies on religion have well been implemented in the locality.
Through key followers and elite people in the district, Lac Son district authorities have encouraged local people and religious followers to well implement the State and Party’s guidelines and policies.
Local authorities have also paid attention to legitimate needs of local religious followers and timely addressed practical issues relating to belief and religion, creating favorable conditions for religious practices in accordance with the law.
Local authorities have often guided and mobilized religious followers to proactively join in patriotic movements, build civilized lifestyles in residential areas, and closely worked with religious dignitaries and village elders for their coordination and support in the state administration on belief and religion in the locality.
