The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Thua Thien Hue province held on March a meeting to promote the role of local religions in building new-style rural and urban areas and the 15th National Assembly (NA) Election.

The event saw the presence of representatives from local religions of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, and Caodaism in the province.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Committee Dương Đình Lân, after the five-year implementation of the movement “All people unite to build new rural and civilised urban areas”, Thua Thien Hue province has 62 out of 97 communes meeting the criteria for new-style rural areas.

At the meeting, the provincial VFF standing committee urged local religious organizations to actively join in patriotic movements in the province, contributing to help Thua Thien Hue province become a centrally-run city, as well as the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and to the People’s Councils at all levels in the 2021-26 tenure on May 25.
